There is no question about the benefits of a good night sleep, but achieving a good night’s sleep has been elusive. The concept of creating a better sleep environment that adapts to the individual—and even adapts differently to two people who are sleeping in the same sleep system and environment—is unique. The environment around the body, the microclimate, is part of the sleep equation that allows for uninterrupted sleep. The build-up of humidity underneath the covers leads to a build-up in heat that can cause sleep disruption. At worst the sleeper wakes up; at the least, the sleeper comes out of the restorative deep sleep the body needs. Instead of having the sleeper adjust the sleep environment, such as kicking off covers or sticking a leg out for air, the 37.5 sleep system makes the adjustment.

To test the 37.5 sleep system, two third-party studies were simultaneously conducted to compare a conventional bedding system to a 37.5 technology bedding system. The Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology used laboratory instrumentation for testing, while NETCONSULT in Germany used a human subject to conduct sleep tests and collected data from instrumentation attached to the subject.

At EMPA labs, instrument simulated-sweating testing confirmed the 37.5 sleep system significantly reduced the absolute humidity within the microclimate compared to the same sleep system without 37.5 technology. The absolute humidity within the 37.5 sleep system was within the comfort range when the instrument simulated sweat at a human rate of 400 g/h. Here, the conventional sleep system did not stay within the ideal comfort zone. What’s more, because the active particles are so efficient at removing moisture, doubling the insulation weight of the 37.5 comforter actually improved the moisture management rather than hindering it.

NETCONSULT In human trials, the use of a 37.5 sleep system leads to a lower absolute humidity under the comforter over the course of the night compared to an identical sleep system without 37.5 technology. Over an average of 5 nights over the same 7-hour sleep cycle, the 37.5 sleep system stays in the comfort zone 89% of the time, whereas over the same period the system without 37.5 technology stays in the comfort zone only 38% of the time.

Laboratory simulations and human sleep tests have scientifically confirmed 37.5™ technology’s ability to effectively regulate the humidity within the bedding system microclimate. Excess humidity amplifies the feeling of cold and hot so by actively removing moisture, you maintain a more comfortable sleeping environment.  The result is that you wake up less and get a better night’s sleep.
