Eddie Bauer Frontpoint 2.0 Jacket Review
Eddie Bauer‘s website recently featured a review on the Frontpoint 2.0 Jacket titled, “The perfect shell?”
Designed for alpine climbing, the second generation Frontpoint 2.0 Jacket elevates hybrid construction to the next level. The fusion of Cocona® 2.5-layer hard shell waterproof protection in critical areas plus breathable, flexible soft shell material in the body makes this a perfect piece when moving fast on approach or descent.
“I’ve been searching for jacket that does it all for a long time, and it has finally arrived. After years of trying different Patagonia, Arcteryx, Rab, and MH shells, I decided to give First Ascent a try. Boy oh boy, am I happy with that decision. Being 6’4″, 190 lbs., finding a good slim fitting and functional (both waterproof and breathable) shell has been a challenge. I’ve been using an Arcteryx Beta FL size medium for that past year, and the performance has been great, but the fit is less than ideal. I’ve tried Patagonia’s M10 and Shelter Stone, and a number of others, but have never felt great about the fit. Now I’m rocking an FA Frontpoint 2.0 medium tall and it is PERFECT. The fit could not be better – slim but with room for layers, with long enough sleeves to cover you during whatever activity you perform. The color (nectar) is AWESOME. I love everything about it, and I am so stoked that I finally found a jacket that looks great, fits perfectly, and functions as well, if not better, than any of the similarly priced or more expensive competitors. Buy this jacket. You won’t regret it.”
